In September, 16 restaurant chains signed a letter to the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction in Washington, D.C., requesting the subsidy’s end. Higher ethanol use pressures corn supplies, which boosts food commodities costs and trims restaurateurs’ profits.

The seventh annual North America Pizza & Ice Cream Show (NAPICS) attracted nearly 4,000 attendees Feb. 12-13, 2011 to the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio. The national audience of pizzeria and ice cream shop operators walked the show floor lined with more than 175 exhibitors.
