I look forward to NAPICS every year because we can bank on getting a quarter million dollars in revenue from the show. For the return on our money, that’s not bad at all. It’s a great investment for us.

t’s a great show to invite what we call swing customers to. Those are people who are about ready to buy, but not sure they’re going to buy from us. We invite them so they can feel and touch the equipment and make the best decision. (In the days leading up to the show, we called probably 125 people a day inviting them to visit our booth at the show.)

Strategically speaking, NAPICS is a great show because of where it’s placed. There’s nothing else like it in that part of the country, and there are a lot of potential customers for us in Ohio and the states around it.

The types of buyers we saw this year were good ones. At most tradeshows, you see two types of attendees: those who just go to the show to look around, and those with a specific plan to see this vendor, that vendor and that vendor. At NAPICS, we most definitely find the second type of buyer, and that’s where we pull a lot of our sales from.

This is the second year we’ve exhibited there. My experience with tradeshows is this: My first year is just a trial, and if that goes well, we come back a second year and see if it grows. Based on this year’s turnout, we definitely will be back next year. And with as well as it’s going, you can just about bank on it for a fourth and fifth time.
